Chalet Mellow Info – 2021

Welcome to Chalet Mellow on the Yellow

Your arrival is coming up soon. Here’s a few things that you might find useful to know about the cottage and the area.

A bug spray and a pretty strong SPF, are highly recommended during your stay. The lake is west facing, so there is sunshine all afternoon (weather permitting).

Water The water at the cottage is from the lake and it’s yellow. We don’t drink or cook with the water from the lake. There is a water dispenser for your use.

Campfire If you would like to have a campfire, you can pick up fire wood, kindling and fire starter locally at the Gas Station (see video) on the way or the Bonichoix which is just up the road and on the way to the cottage. Please be sure to check that it is safe to have a campfire, there is a sign right after the intersection of the 323 and 315, it’s right after the restaurant, Au Moulin du temps. Please also be sure that the campfire is extinguished before leaving it unattended.

Stay Safe on the Lake
There are life jackets, two kiddie rafts, a kayak and a pedal boat for your use. We recommend wearing lifejackets at all times when on the lake. Please don’t use the water craft unless you plan to wear a lifejacket.

As indicated in our listing, our place is not suitable for parties or events. Our neighbours are quite close and we don’t want to disturb their peace as I’m sure you already know sound carries on the lake.

Pets
We do allow pets, however it is very important to make sure your pet does not wander off on to the neighbour’s property. There is wildlife in the area, so please monitor your pet and don’t leave them alone outside.

The WiFi ID is Sagemcom_6756 and the Password is DDXT3AG4

You may want to download the Sonos S1 Controller App app to play music at the cottage.

If you have any problems connecting to the WiFi, the router is located in the small bedroom and may need to be rebooted. All you have to do is turn off the power, wait 15 seconds and turn it back on. Still having trouble? Call or text me, I will get in touch with the Internet Service Provider.

There is a Smart TV in the living room, you can watch any subscriptions you may have with Netflix and similar products, there are free tv shows as well, just press “Guide” on the remote to have access. There is a small TV in the master bedroom with a DVD player, you can move this to the second bedroom if that is more convenient during your stay. There are a bunch of DVD’s in the cabinet in the living room.

Key to the entrance door
The lock box with the key is on the handle of the front Door. The code is 0531. Please be sure to return the key to the lockbox and scramble the code.

Please feel free to text anytime during your stay to ask questions or if you have any concerns whatsoever. It is our pleasure to answer and help out in any way we can. We want you to have a great stay at Chalet Mellow on the Yellow!

In an extreme emergency you should always call 911.

Arriving at the cottage

Check in is at 3pm, we recommend driving up during daylight hours, because it may be a little difficult to find the entrance to the private road, leading to the cottage, from the highway at night. Remember there is a lot of wild life up there and we want you to stay safe.
